Caveman Ego came into existence in 2014 in the dark belly of Cry Baby Studios. What began as a jam session and an impromptu Halloween basement show soon became a shared music venture. In June 2016 the band released their first EP, Allegory of the Cave, leading to shows at venues around Seattle, including Tractor Tavern, Nectar Lounge, High Dive, Blue Moon, & The Royal Room.
Their music spans an eclectic mix of genres, drawing influences from Phish's jam vibes, Vulfpeck's funky grooves, Ween's odd humor, Tame Impala's spacey adventures, and Charles Mingus' jazzy flare. The melding progressive sound is both confounding and enchanting.
